The owners love art and have original pieces by the French artist DeLarue, the Spanish artist Malva, and American artists Polly Cook, Creason Clayton, Helen Powers, Harmon and others.

Other pieces include lithographs by Tarkay and Barbara Woods. Doug Rouse hand painted a mural on the foyer ceiling entitled "Clouds before the Storm". The living room rug is antique Persian. They also have an antique French mirror in the dining room. There's a hanging buggy rug that was used in one owner's great grandparents' wedding day buggy in 1875 and has been passed down to each generation.

The design concept for this home was to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that is timeless and elegant. The overall style created is classic yet transitional. With the use of clean-lined furnishings mixed with the existing Mediterranean architectural details of the home the contrast is harmonious and pleasing.

The homeowners needed individual bedrooms for their three young children. They love to entertain and wanted to create a casual family room to entertain friends and family in a more relaxed atmosphere. The living and dining rooms are used to entertain for formal occasions with business acquaintances and holidays.

The color way for the home compliments the existing colors of the hard surfaces previously specified by the builder. Marigold, pumpkin and chocolate in more muted earthy tones are very elegant and sophisticated in the living room and master bedroom while more vibrant tones are used in the family room and outdoor areas.

The kid's rooms pull from the earthy tones of the overall color way, but are customized to their personal preferences. Bedroom #2 incorporates blues and brighter carmine reds. In bedroom #3 a softer palette incorporate cantaloupe, salmon and lemon yellow with leafy green. Bedroom # 4 has a bolder palette with shocking pink, tangerine and apple green.

The result is a warm and inviting home where rich espresso wood furnishings and accent fabrics in a blend of patterns compliment each other with special attention to detail to make this space classic, casual and sophisticated. The use of contemporary accessories and abstract art bring the client's personality and love for modern accents throughout the home.
